When the septum, or wall, dividing the heart’s lower chambers becomes thicker than normal, septal ablation comes into play. The procedure corrects the problem so blood is able to reach the heart easily. This happens by injecting alcohol into the arteries that feed the stepum, thinning the septum and allowing the heart to operate more efficiently.
